Public Basic Schools in Ghana are expected to resume next week ,Tuesday, September 12,2017 to begin the 2017/18 academic year.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the academic calendar for basic schools for the 2017/18 academic year.
The new academic year will see pupils and students staying in school for 14 weeks and would go on Christmas break on December 14, 2017.
The vacation will last for 25 days; from December 15, 2017 to January 8, 2018.
According to the Academic calendar, the second term of the academic year would commence from January 9, 2018 to April 12, 2018,of which pupils will undertake 14 weeks of academic activities.
They will go on holidays from April 13, 2018 to May 7, 2018; 25 days for the Easter festivities.
The third and final term of the academic year will cover a 12-week period. It will begin from May 8, 2018 and end on July 26, 2018.
The 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be written from June 4 to 8, 2018.
