FCUBE: Pupils of Oyera D/A Primary School study in a Dilapidated School Structure

Many students in rural areas cry over infrastructural problems as it has become a major bruise on the skin of students, teachers and the communities over the years.

Another disaster looms at Oyera in Afigya Kwabre South District in Ashanti region where pupils are now studying in a nearly collapse life-threatening building which has developed several cracks and has no firm support.

Students are risking their lives in pursuit of education as they study in a dilapidated school structure that has not seen renovation over 10 years since its inception.
The uncompleted classrooms of the school have developed serious cracks leaving the weak blocks shaky while it is touched.
The situation, according to the school authorities, threatens the lives of both teachers and the 180. student population as well as having negative effect on studies.

The school, according to the headmaster, lacks many other facilities that enhance effective teaching and conducive learning atmosphere. The pupils, therefore, urge the government, stakeholders, NGOs and other corporate bodies to come to their assistance to salvage the situation.

Most of the pupil’s sit on the floor due to lack of desks.
