Some graduates of the Jackson College of Education have descended on the authorities of the College over an alleged discrimination in the Postings released by the Ghana Education Service recently.
According to a statement from the 2012 to 2015 batches of the College, the graduates questioned the eligibility of the above mentioned year groups with regards to the Postings released by the Ghana Education Service for College Trainees to teach in the vacant public Basic Schools.
The graduates questioned the procedure being used in selecting Students of the College for postings.
The graduates alleged, that they were being informed by authorities of the College to vote for the New Patriotic Party so they can be posted after the 2016 elections.
The graduates alleged that the authorities told them the National Democratic Congress shall not post them so there was the need for all students and graduates to vote massively for the NPP.
Meanwhile, after the 2016 elections which saw the NPP coming to power, the Ghana Education Service posted only the 2016 batch of the College.
“Has madam forgotten when she told us (2015) badge to vote massively for NPP since the NDC government were not giving us posting in 2016 when we went to collect our certificates at the head office of Jackson college?”
“You told us that when NPP comes to power you will make sure that all Jackson graduates from 2012-2015 badges get postings. Are we still in NDC government?” the graduates questioned.
According to the graduates,it was very clear that the management of Jackson college had used the 2012-2015 badges to lay the foundation of the college and now dumped us in the middle of sea.
“They intensionally posted the 2016 badge to create way for all the subsequent badges to be posted immediately they complete, this will yield more admissions into this college.” They claimed.
“Let us not forget the fact that when the foundation of a building collapse the whole building will collapse. Don’t think you can use us to make money and dump us. God is with us and shall fight for us.” The group concluded.
