Learn from the Private Schools to improve quality Education – Minister

The Deputy Minister in Charge of Secondary and Technical Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has called on Public Schools to replicate the good practices of Private Schools in the Public Schools In order to improve the quality of education in the Country.

The Minister  made this suggestion when he led a delegation of officials of the Ministry of Education and media representatives to visit a number of selected private and public basic and senior high schools in Accra.

The Minister also called for a Private and Public Sector partnership in other to improve the quality of Education in the Country.

The delegation paid a visit to the St. Thomas Aquinas SHS in Cantonments, where the deputy minister said he wanted to see for himself, preparations that had been made to welcome students back to school for the second term of the 2017/18 academic year.

Dr Adutwum commended the staff of the school for their support during the implementation of the Free SHS policy.

At the Labone, Teshie Presec and Nungua SHSs, he assured them of the Ministry’s dedication to address their most critical challenges. He asked the students to stay focused on their books to enable them pass well.

The Minister also visited Morning Star School, Teshie Camp 1 cluster of basic schools and the St, Augustine SHS.
