JUST IN:Teacher rewarded with a Standing Fan for walking about 42km to School

The Director of Education at the Tolon District in the Northen Region has awarded one of her hardworking Teachers with a Standing Fan during the 61st Independence Celebration organized by the District Education Directorate.

The Award was given to one Mr Awudu Kombian,who serves as the Only Teacher at the Warvi D/A Primary School for some time now.

Mr Awudu is believed to had been walking for about 42km daily in order to get to work to impart knowledge in the Future Leaders.

Mr Awudu, who doubles as the headmasters of the School has been able to perform all duties to perfection.

His absence in the School in any emergency or equally important mission always leads to the closure of the school.

“It’s very challenging but as a professional you have to always do your best to see what you can do in the midst of the challenges. Every day I have to travel about 42kms to go and teach, because it’s a very deprived community, and places like that you don’t have accommodation so even if you are willing to even stay there, there is no accommodation for you”, he said.

The District Director of Education at the Tolon District Directorate, Reverend Georgina Anaaba Norga upon presenting the Award to him, asked the teacher to continue with the good work.
