The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo will in Friday, March 23,2018 launch the restoration of the Teacher Trainees Allowances at 15:00 GMT.
The Launching ceremony is expected to take place at the Ultramodern Auditorium of the Accra College of Education in the nation’s capital.

The Teacher Trainees Allowance was cancelled by the Former NDC government led by Former President John Mahama, and was swapped with feeding grant, and Students Loan in other to save more money for other developmental projects in the Education sector, this was according to the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership, a situation that saw the then Candidate John Mahama sacrificing his Presidential ambitions in defense of his reason to cancel the Allowances.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP)capitalized on that to win votes, saying it will restore the allowances of both Teacher and Nursing Trainees.

After gaining power in 2017,the NPP government restored the Nursing Allowances amidst Launching and Jubilation to celebrate a manifesto promise we’ll delivered.
The NPP government also restored the Teacher Trainees Allowances of which it was not surprising when Friday was set for its launch.
