Security for political party leaders
Following the brouhaha surrounding the three ex police officers from South Africa who were arrested in the country for training bodyguards of Nana Akufo Addo, the Ghana Police Service promised all flagbearers and their running mates of police protection before and during the 2016 elections.
The police service however says the political parties are expected to get back to them wig regard to how the police security detail would be done.
Supt. Cephas Arthur, Director of Public Affairs of the Police Service said “as we speak, no body has come back yet, there’s been no feedback yet so we have set 15th May to get back to them to know our next line of action.”
Asked whether there is any arrangement for protection for former first families, Supt. Arthur said “I can’t say for sure, I’d get back to you on that.”
