Parents of students in some Senior High Schools (SHS), writing their West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, are facing frustration at the hands of some heads of schools who are demanding full payment of fees instead of half as directed by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

A Spokesperson of the parents at Suhum Presbyterian Senior High School, Prosper Agyeman, told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the Headmistress has throughout the examination period sacked students from the Examination Hall, for thirty minutes before allowing them to write the papers.

Mr. Agyeman is therefore appealing to the GES to intervene since the students are being frustrated.

Meanwhil, the National Chariman of PTA’s, Alexander Danso, has asked affected parents of final year students to report the conduct of heads of Senior High Schools, going contrary to the GES directive to the District, and Regional Directors of Education, as well as the school PTAs.

Mr. Danso told GBC’s George Ankrah, that the National PTA would send such Heads to Court to seek redress.
