Help your Parents to generate Funds to further Your Education -OMESS Headmaster

The Headmaster of the Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS), Frank Eyiah,has urged New graduands of the School to help their parents in their various careers to help them generate funds to further their education.

He gave the advice at the third Graduation Ceremony of the Oyoko Methodist Senior High School on the theme “Curbing indiscipline in Senior High Schools, the role of the Stakeholders”.

The Headmaster of Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua, Rev. Abraham Osei Donkor in a keynote address indicated that teachers as a major stakeholder in the educational sector is less empowered in the discipline of students since they lack the needed support from the government and other stakeholders.

He outlined the idea of democracy with emphasis on rights and liberties of individual, generational gap, influence of the media and interference in school management among others as the causes of the gross indiscipline in the Senior High Schools.

He also indicated that, there is no rights without responsibilities, and asked students to fulfill their responsibilities before demanding for their rights.

The Apedwahene of Oyoko, Nana Agyei Kwakyewho represented the Oyokohene,asked the continuing students to learn assiduouslyand commended the graduands for comporting themselves during their three year stay in the school.

He however, appealed to parents to help them further their education.

The outgoing School Prefect, J.B. Danquah, in a speech expressed his profound gratitude for their immense support of their parents and school authorities.

A total of one thousand 285 students were graduated and some were awarded for their outstanding performances.

A sod was cut for the commencement of a 97 thousand ceremonial pavement ground.

An amount of five thousand Ghana Cedis realized from the fundraising at the graduation ceremony will be used to start the project.

In a related development, the Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary, (POJOSS) at Effiduase-Koforidua, also held its graduation ceremony with a call on the graduands to be part of the solution to the numerous challenges confronting the nation.

They were also encouraged to be vessels of hope for a great transformation of the country.

The Headmistress of the school, Benedicta Cabilba Foli expressed her gratitude to all the staff of the school for their immense contributions in diverse ways towards raising the flag of the school.

She advised the students to be good ambassadors of the school and also show a good behavior everywhere they will find themselves as well as urging parents to continue taking keen interest in the affairs of their boys as they exit the school.
