JUST IN: Over 80 Trainees at Wiaso College Of Education denied allowances after Restoration

Some Eighty-six level 100 Teacher Trainees from the Wiaso College of Education in the Western Region have been denied allowances since its restoration by the New Patriotic Party Government.

According to information reaching EducationGhana.net, the said students have been waiting for their allowances since its restoration but all efforts proved futile.

Describing the situation as “Unfairness” ,the victims explained that they approached the College authorities who told them they were denied allowances due to a supposed SSNIT Number orderliness.

The Students said the College Authorities told them their SSNIT numbers were not in order.

The students also emphasized, that they were legally admitted and could not understand why they were excluded from the allowances.

Meanwhile, most of the students in the College are benefiting from the allowances.

The affected Students lamented that they were told their admission names differed from the one used for SSNIT.

They Students said their College principal told them as at last semester that all wrongs had been corrected and were told their allowances will come in March this year but nothing positive came out of it.

About The Teacher Trainees Allowances

The New Patriotic Party government restored the Teacher Trainees Allowances as a Campaign Promise after it was scrapped by the National Democratic Congress government before the 2016 Elections .
