Dachio Primary and Junior High School in the Upper East Region has taken delivery of ten brand new computers to augment effective teaching and learning of ICT at the school.
Donated by the Regional office of MTN Ghana, the school is earmarked to receive computer accessories and other items to enhance teaching methods under its 21 Yellow Care outreach programme.
The “MTN 21 days of Yellow care” is an annual staff volunteer program that begins June 1st-21st with the primary objective to providing resourceful materials to support vulnerable groups and communities.
Mr. Richard Asamane is the Regional Territorial Sales Controller. He told Radio Ghana’s Isaac Asare that the motive behind the initiative is to enhance the company’s support base in the area of education.
Receiving the items, the head teacher of Dachio JHS, David Akumbanga thanked MTN Ghana for responding to their distress call by stocking the school’s computer laboratory.
He said the provision of the items will assist in deepening the knowledge base of the pupils in ICT.
In his submission, the Youth Chairman of Dachio, Alhaji Abdul-Zakari, challenged both parents and teachers in the community to take ownership of the computers and work towards ensuring its proper utilization.
