Banda MP donates GH¢100,000 for payment of School Fees of Needy Students

The Banda District Director of Education in Bono-Ahafo, Efua Amuah, has stated that attitudinal change on the part of all the parties involved in the educational sector is key to enhancing the delivery of quality education in the country.

According to her achieving educational goals is a collective responsibility and for that matter tutors, students, parents and guardians must adopt the right attitude towards teaching and learning so as to compliment government’s efforts of providing the needed infrastructure and logistics for the education sector.

Mrs. Effua Amuah made these pronouncements when She addressed a mini durbar at Banda Ahenkro, during which the MP for the area, Ahmed Ibrahim presented 100 thousand Ghana Cedis for the payment of school fees for needy students of Bandaman Senior High School in the Banda District.

that the atmosphere at the premises of Bandaman Senior High school, was a joyous one when the MP for Banda, Ibrahim Ahmed and his entourage arrived.

Parents, students and the school administration wore infectious smiles on their faces as the MP was there to continue his tradition of paying the fees of the needy students of School from his MP’s common Fund.

Since he assumed office as the MP for the area, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed is said to have remained committed to meeting the educational needs of the underprivileged students in the area.

Having tasted the life of being underprivileged in his school days and the frustrations that go with it, the MP deemed it prudent to show some love to the have-nots in his constituency by shouldering greater part of their educational burden.

Mr. Ibrahim made a symbolic payment of a 100 thousand Cedis in the presence of the gathering.
The amount is expected to cater for the fees of over 200 forms 2 and 3 students and by extension some of the fresher’s who are yet to be admitted by the school.

The district director of education Mrs. Efua Amuah received the payment on behalf of the students and the school with a call on parents to endeavor to provide the basic needs of their wards and guide their movements at all times.
To the students she asked that they make judicious use of the opportunity offered them and study to brighten their future.

Mrs. Effua Amuah said the time has come for stakeholders to put their shoulders to wheel to ensure that educational goals are achieved.She described the gesture of the MP as an opportune one since most parents in the catchment area are deprived.

Further, she expressed hope that the school will serve as a good breeding grounds for great minds for the future.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim topped up the gesture with some foot wares for the students and assured them of his constant support.

In addition, he advised them to take their studies seriously so they can become competent and independent individuals whose lifestyles will be worthy of emulation.

At separate durbars, the MP presented pairs of shoes to pupils of Fawoman and Nyire Basic and Junior High schools.
This brings to 6 thousands the total number of shoes distributed among school children in the area.

Some Yam and cashew farmers in the two towns also had their share of the MP’s benevolence.
They went home with farm inputs such Agro chemicals and spraying machines.
The move is expected to give their occupational Activities a boost.
