A Lecturer at the History department of the University of Ghana, Prof Akosua Adoma Perbi has raised concerns about the absence of History as a subject of study at the primary level of education in the country.
According to her, although Social Studies is taught at the primary level, the History content in it is little and may fade away if care is not taken.
This is because History is the foundation of all disciplines. Prof Adoma Perbi was speaking at the Inaugural Lectures of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.
The lectures offer other fellows of the Academy to addres colleagues and the public usually on topics of National importance.
