Trainees in the government colleges of Education in Ghana are expected to take their restored allowances from September this year.
In a statement issued by the National leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana,they leadership said it has met with the government at two separate meetings to deliberate on the way forward with regards to their allowances restoration,of which government promised the payment to take effect from September this year.
According to the Association, government is yet to determine the amount to be given to the trainees per month.Meanwhile,the allowances will benefit all Level 100,200 and 300 Students as at September 2017,a situation that has placed the current level 300 Students who are the fore runners of the allowances restoration campaign prior to the election in 2016 which brought the New Patriotic Party into power.
The leadership of the association has presented a passionate appeal to the ministry to compensate the current level 300 who will not benefit from the allowance.
