Over 12,000 Nursing Candidates write 2017 Licencing Examination

A total number of 12,437 candidates comprising of Registered General Nurses (RGN), Registered Mental Nurses (RMN), Registered Midwives (RM) and Registered Community Nurses (RCN) are to partake in the licensing examination which was started today, August 21, 2017 in 93 centers nationwide.

The papers which were written today are; Paper 1 – Medicine and Medical Nursing for RGN, Pediatrics and Obstetrics/ Anatomy and Physiology for RM, Principles and Practice of Psychiatric Nursing for RMN and Principles and Practice of Community Health Nursing, School Health and Administration for RCN.

The paper 2 for the various programmes would be written tomorrow August 22, 2017 whilst on the third day all the candidates will write a general paper.


In all, about 7,357 RGN, 504 RMN, 3,149 RM and 1,424 RCN will be participating in the licensing examination which will end on August 23, 2017.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council would like to wish all candidates writing the basic licensing examination good luck.
