The 2016 graduating class of the Kumasi Technical University (KuTU), formerly Kumasi Polytechnic has issued a 10-day ultimatum to authorities of the university to produce their certificates or they will advise themselves after the expiration of the ultimatum.
The aggrieved students complained, thatl unlike their colleagues in other tertiary institutions who get their certificates before completing National Service, they have completed their National Service in 2017 but cannot apply for jobs because of lack of certificate.
The Kumasi Technical University is one of the Technical Universities that were migrated from the Polytechnic status into Technical Universities by the John Mahama Government.
Recently, Technical University Teachers accused government of trying to reverse Technical Universities into Polytechnics,due to its inability to constitute a council for the Institutions.
