Teachers in the Ghana Education Service have shown their dissatisfaction over a supposed GES- SIC Policy deduction that was effected by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) at the end of June 2018.
The deductions which reflected in the June Salaries of the Teachers created the controversies among the Teachers.
Most of the Teachers took to Social Media to criticize their Unions who according to an earlier Publication by EducationGhana.net witnessed the decision that led to the supposed GH¢10 deductions for SIC Insurance Policy .
According to the Policy document,
“Government is subsidizing the cost of the insurance, so members to the scheme will contribute GH₵10.00 per month to ensure the continuous sustenance of this all important insurance plan.”it emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Union leaders who had been part of the supposed decisions for the deductions to be effected couldn’t inform their members, a situation many described as “a Usual Leadership Woes” at the Teacher Leadership Fronts.
President Akuffo Addo earlier indicated, that government was planning an insurance Policy for teachers, a statement being continuously supported by the Minister of Education.
Meanwhile none of such personalities, had on any platform, spoken about the GH¢10 deductions.
