The Ministry of Education in Collaboration with the Ghana Education Service has released the approved fees for Senior High Schools in the public sector for the 2016/2017 academic year.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Education,Prof. Nana Opoku Agyemang on Wednesday afternoon at a brief event where she presented School Supplies to district directors of education for onward distribution to public Basic Schools ahead of the 2016/17 academic year which begins next week.
The Minister confirmed that the progressively free SHS programme had taken care of more items on the bill for students as her ministry was ready to welcome 120,000 boarders in line with the expansion of the progressively free SHS agenda of President Mahama.
Below are the approved fees for the next Academic year..
1.Continuing Day Students GH¢20.00
2.Continuing Boarding Students GH¢487.20
3.First Year Day Students. GH¢460.00
4.First Year Boarders GH¢922.20
The school supplies presented by the minister include
1.Attendance Registers for teachers 350,000
2.Teachers Note Books 230,000
3.White Chalk 2,400,000
4.School Uniforms. 209,415
5.School sandals 40,000
6.Dictionaries 2,549,647
